Information to Authors:

The Journal of I S P R P is a publication that disseminates original articles pertaining to the 3 specialities of Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry & Periodontics. It includes cases of clinical interest, Research papers, , pertaining to the 3 specialities.

Submission of Manuscript:

Submission should include the following

  • A letter of submission
  • Original and two hard copies of the manuscript (printed, double spaced, on one side of the paper only, with one inch margin) which includes;
  • Title Page : The title page should carry
    1. Types of manuscript (e.g. Original article, Case Report)
    2. The title of the article, which should be concise, but informative;
    3. Running title or short title not more than 50 characters;
    4. The name by which each contributor is known (Last name, First name and Initials of middle name) with his or her highest academic degree(s) and Institutional affiliation;
    5. The name of the department (s) and institution(s) to which the work should be attributed
    6. The name, address, phone numbers, facsimile numbers and e-mail address of the contributor responsible for correspondence about the manuscript;
    7. The total number of pages, total number of photographs and word counts separately for abstract and for the text (excluding the references and abstract)
    8. Acknowledgement, if any and
    9. If the manuscript was presented as part at a meeting, the organization, place, and exact date on which it was read.
  • A disk copy or 3 ˝ floppy, with the article and photographs, tables etc, Images in JPEG format & Text in RTF (Rich text format)
  • The authors’ name should be written only on the original copy and not to be copied on the photocopied versions which will be submitted to the review Committee.
  • A copy right Assignment form should be duty filled and sent with the manuscript.

Original articles will be published only on the condition that they have not been published elsewhere, in part or in whole and are not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts will be subjected to editorial revision

Manuscripts Preparation: The text of observational and experimental articles should be divided into sections with the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, Figure legends, and a conclusion with an Acknowledgement. Do not make subheadings in these sections. Text should be organized in a manner that best fits the specific goals of the article

Title Page: This should include the title of the manuscript and the name, degree, current professional or academic affiliation (including city and state)of all the authors. Also included should be the full postal address telephone number, fax number and electronic mail address of the primary or contact author.

Abstract Page: The second page should carry the full title of the manuscript and an abstract (of no more than 150 words for case reports, brief reports and 250 words for original articles). The abstract should be structured and state the Context (Background). Aims, Settings, and Design, Methods and Material. Statistical analysis used Results and Conclusions. Below, the abstract should provide 3 to 10 key word.

Introduction: State the purpose of the article and summaries, the rationale for the study or observation.

Tables:

  • Tables should be self-explanatory and should not duplicate material
  • Tables with more than 10 column and 25 rows are not acceptable.
  • Number tables, in Arabic numerals consecutively in the order of their first citation in the text and supply a brief title for each.
  • Explain in footnotes all non-standard observations that used in each table.

Figures:

  • Send sharp. Glossy, un-mounted color photographic prints, with height of 4 Inches and width of 6 inches.
  • Figures should be numbered consecutively according to the order in which they have been first cited in the text..
  • Print outs of digital photographs are not acceptable. For digital images send TIFF files of minimum 1200 x 1600 pixel size.
  • Type or print out legends(maximum 40 words, excluding the credit line) for Illustrations using “double spacing” with Arabic numerals corresponding to the illustrations.

Disclosure of Funding: The journal does not exclude articles whose authors have a commercial interest in products cited in the article. However, should there be a financial association between one or more of the authors and a commercial company whose products are cited in the article, the editor stipulates that the author disclose their commercial interest. Authors are encouraged to acknowledged financial support by research or clinical grants from various agencies.

Acknowledgements: Acknowledge only persons who have made significant contribution to the study

Copyright statement: A copyright format is provided below, which should be typed with the title and name of all authors and their respective signatures and submitted along with the manuscript.

Sending a revised manuscript:

While submitting a revised manuscript, contributors are requested to include, along with single copy of the final revised manuscript, a photocopy of the revised manuscript with the changes underlined in red and copy of the comments with the point to point clarification to each comment. The manuscript is submitted online, the contribution form and copyright transfer form has to be submitted in original with the signatures of all the contributors within two weeks of submission. Hard copies of images should be sent to the office of the journal. There is no need to send printed manuscript for articles submitted online.

Copyright: The whole of the literary matter in the Indian Society of Prosthodontics Restorative Periodontics is copyright and cannot be reproduced without the written permission.

Reprints: Journal provides no free printed reprints. Request for reprints should be addressed to the editor.
