It had been a long cherished dream of the dental fraternity to have a common platform in our country for the three specialties in dentistry for better interaction, learning and understanding. This dream was made fruitful by forming an association called the Indian Society of Prosthodontics-Restorative-Periodontics (ISPRP).
As this forum grew in strength, the idea was to transform this forum into an association. With this in mind we sat formally with 28 members on 18th Feb, 2007 at Hotel Palkhi in Mangalore.
The first informal talk on forming a forum with these three specialties happened more than years back in 2006. As this forum grew in strength, the idea was to transform this forum into an association. With this in mind we sat formally with 28 members on 18th Feb, 2007 at Hotel Palkhi in Mangalore.
The mentors meet was chaired by Dr.Jayaprasad, Professor in Periodontics and co-chaired by Dr. Harish Shetty , professor in Endodontics.

At this meet the members discussed the pros and cons about forming an association, and concluded that it would be very beneficial to the progress of dentistry in this country and finally decided to form an association with name INDIAN SOCIETY OF PROSTHODONTICS RESTORATIVE PERIODONTICS.
The idea was put forward for discussion with many of the seniors who were very supportive and encouraged us with their valuable suggestions for the same, which gave us the courage to go ahead with the formation of this association.
After a thorough discussion, the Constitution and By-Laws for the association were drafted. An emblem for the association was also approved. The meeting also selected members to lead the association for the first year.
